Act 2 - DYNASTAR KV COURCHEVEL - Wednesday 20 July 2016

Simon Combes and Stéphanie Duc win the 2nd round of the Dynastar KV Courchevel.

For the 2nd time-trial round of the Dynastar KV Courchevel this Wednesday 20 July 2016, a veil of cloud came to hide the sun and allowed the 56 competitors to climb in less stifling heat the 1,000 m of elevation gain of this 15.5 km course between Le Carrey and the Jardin Alpin in Courchevel 1850.

The winner of the Dynastar X3 Courchevel 2016, Stéphanie Duc, was present and left her pursuers no chance, taking the victory in 55min56s. Next came Jenny Appolonia (1h14min23s) and Véronique Lathuraz (1h15min09s). Laure-Anne Ferrent, holder of the 2016 provisional record in 53min02s, had to retire following a mechanical problem.

In the men’s race, the top places were decided by the narrowest of margins, with Simon Combes winning in 45min05s ahead of Julien Lodolo (45min19s) and Lucas Clocher (45min25s). Jérémy Defaye keeps the lead in the provisional overall standings in 43min36s.

Worthy of note is the fine performance of Martin Cormier, born in 2003, the youngest participant of the evening, who completed the climb in 1h13min52s.

There are now only 2 cycling dates left for competitors who wish to take the season record, improve their time or come and test themselves for those who have not yet done so. The 3rd and penultimate round of the Dynastar KV Courchevel by bike will take place on Wednesday 3 August.

These 4 cycling KV rounds are offered by the Amicale Cycliste de Courchevel during the summer (6 and 20 July, 3 and 21 August) and count towards the “Challenge X3 KV Courchevel 2017”. To be ranked in this challenge, you must take part at least once in each of the 3 Vertical Kilometre events offered in Courchevel. To do so, all you need to do is hop on your bike for the “Dynastar KV Courchevel” 2016, lace up your trainers for the “Plum KV Courchevel” 2016, whose second round will be held on Wednesday 27 July, and put on your touring skis for the “Plum KV Courchevel” 2017. A good way to prepare for the extraordinary triathlon that has become the unmissable event for outdoor sports enthusiasts, combining these 3 disciplines in one day: the “Dynastar X3 Courchevel”, which will take place on 16 April 2017.
