DERBIKE COURCHEVEL - 4th edition
The Derbike is back on Sunday 19 April!
What is the Derbike?
A contraction of DERBY (a mass-start race format) and BIKE; what’s more, it takes place on the last day (DERnier jour) the ski lifts are open!
Competitors will start from the summit of the Saulire and finish at the edge of the Praz lake, 1,400 m of altitude lower, alternating steep slopes on groomed pistes, tracks and, depending on snow conditions, both hard snow and bare earth.
It is a race that demands commitment, a little technique, and above all a good dose of madness!
This event marks the end of the winter season and the start of the mountain biking season.
For spectators, an area will be set aside at Verdons where they can watch the competitors go by while drinking a hot chocolate.
Derbike : what is it ?
A mass-start bike race going from the top of snow-covered Saulire, all the way down to the lake in Le Praz, 1400m lower. It’s the event to wave winter goodbye and bring summer back.
It’s fast, a bit mad and loads of fun on two wheels. Open to anyone aged 18+. A spectator area will be set up at the top of the Verdons bubble for pedestrians only, access from 8am.
