ROUND 4 - DYNAFIT SKI TOURING COURCHEVEL - 29 December 2010

A new edition and new records!

73 runners were at the start of this 4th edition, with more and more British competitors but also Russian athletes and, of course, the French, some of whom travel ever greater distances, like Patrice and Christiane, who came from Alsace to rediscover the pleasure of ski touring at night. On the racing side, Alexandre Pellicier, a member of the French team, again took the event record with a time of 24min21s. Behind him came Grégory Gachet in 25min15s and Yann Gachet in 26min48s. Among the women, Gabrielle Magnenat of the Arèches Beaufort multisports club also broke the women’s record with a time of 30min44s. She was followed by Stéphanie Duc in 34min11s and Gaelle Martin in 35min34s.

Jacques Plassiard, our priest of Saint-Bon Courchevel and a ski mountaineering enthusiast, came to encourage all the athletes at the start in Le Praz, and Jean-Christophe Vidoni, deputy for sports, came to congratulate Yann Couillard, the new president of the Courchevel Sports Alpinisme association, and all the volunteers for this organisation, which is growing week by week.
