291 ski tourers have already started the Dynafit Ski Touring Courchevel since Wednesday 8 December. These climbs take place every Wednesday evening and continue to attract ski mountaineering amateurs and enthusiasts from all backgrounds. 42 participants registered for this 6th edition, and this time the Belgians came to defend the colours of their country in a spirit of joy and good humour. In the prize draw, one of them was lucky enough to win a half-board stay at the “Grand Plan” refuge, in the heart of the Avals valley in Courchevel. British judoka David Southby, who took part in the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000, also came to take on this climb, finishing with a time of 39min09s.
On the podium, among the men, Florent Perrier, 7-time world champion, 6-time European champion, 8-time French champion and winner of many other victories, including the Pierra Menta, finished the climb in 26min20s and beat the climb record, held until then by Alexandre Pellicier, by 1 second! He said he would do better next week… amateurs take note! In second place came Anthony Fraissard of the 7th BCA in 26min09s and in third place Frédérique Thérisod in 26min20s. Among the women, Mireille Bartniki was the only female competitor of this edition. After a very fine climb, she improved her previous personal record by 3 min and finished the race in 44min57s.
