Grégory Gachet, French team ski mountaineering champion, 5 seconds off the record.

After 24min22 of racing, the 2011 French team ski touring champion and winner of the 2007 Pierra Menta, Grégory Gachet, won this 9th edition of the Dynafit Ski Touring Courchevel 5 seconds off the record (24min22s). Barely across the finish line, Grégory, still out of breath, told us: ''I lost a little time on the last wall and I know where the 5 seconds I am missing are. The track was good and next time the record should fall.'' Frédéric Therisod, a member of the Courchevel Sport Alpinisme association, came second in 26min16s ahead of Olivier Chacornac of the 13th Alpine Chasseurs Battalion, who finished in 28min00s. Among the women, Sandrine Favre won in 32min35s ahead of Armelle Favre of the CAF Vanoise Tarentaise in 33min43s and Marlène Bozon of the CAF Annecy in 37min35s.
Of the 55 starters, this new edition was marked by fine participation from the 13th Alpine Chasseurs Battalion of Chambéry. Indeed, 10 soldiers took the start, including Colonel Bertrand Lavaux, the battalion’s commanding officer, who finished in 47min33.
Also worth noting are the fine performances of our representatives from the Courchevel Sports Alpinisme association, including Nicolas Bourin, who not only finished in a fine 6th place but is one of the loyal participants who have taken part in every edition.
On Wednesday 9 February, we will celebrate the 10th edition of the Dynafit Ski Touring Courchevel, so we look forward to seeing many of you there to share a convivial time and test yourselves on this 3.2 km climb with 500 m of elevation gain.
