ROUND 10 - DYNAFIT SKI TOURING COURCHEVEL - 8 February 2012
The 10th for Yoann Sert and Catherine Minary.
The 10th for Yoann Sert and Catherine Minary.
Before the February holidays arrive and the top ski mountaineers return next Wednesday (they are currently at the European Championships in Pelvoux), 32 competitors set off on the 3.2 km, 500 m elevation gain course of this 10th climb of the Dynafit Ski Touring Courchevel (DSTC) by the light of the full moon.
For most of the runners, the aim is simple: to get from Le Praz to Courchevel 1850 as quickly as possible to try to be as well placed as possible in the provisional standings of the season, which already count no fewer than 400 participants and are still topped by Kilian Jornet Burgada (22min34s) and Laetitia Roux (28min12s) at present.
The watch is the only landmark and the only opponent for all the entrants, who each set off at their own time in a time trial.
In this game, Yoann Sert of CAF Moûtiers did well, winning this 10th DSTC in 27min43s ahead of William Perrier of the Club Multisports d’Arêches-Beaufort in 28min01s and Michet Sibuet in 28min09s.
Among the women, Catherine Minary dominated the event with a time of 37min09s. Emmanuelle Desrues of the Club Camos du Roignais finished second in 41min26s and left third place to Mireille Bartnicki in 42min47s.
