For this 16th Dynafit Ski Touring Courchevel (DSTC), the snow stopped falling just before the start and the clouds cleared, allowing the 64 ski mountaineers to enjoy a magnificent sunset while covering the 3.2 km and 500 m of elevation gain. Many runners took advantage of this penultimate round to give everything, dig deep into their reserves and try very light equipment in order to beat their personal records. At the finish, the efforts paid off for Jean-Marc Sullice , who made his best climb of the season in 43min35s, finishing 30 seconds behind Philippe Mugnier , deputy mayor of the municipality. But also for Michèle Mongellaz with a new personal record of 41min24s, Véronique Paquet (46min08s), Christophe Normand (48min06s), Laurent Setiey in 37min48s, Christian Arnal (44min07s), Jean-Christophe Berrard (36min33s), not forgetting Yves Blanc , who made his best performance in 43min19s with Dynafit “Dy.N.A” skis that he had reserved at the partner shop “Le Camp de Base”.

Also worth noting is the fine performance of Hugo Mater , who at only 10 years old finished in 53min07s.

On the podiums, Julien Poquet of the Courchevel Sports Alpinisme Club won in 26min53s ahead of Rémi Berchet in 27min53s and Michel Sibuet Becquet in 28min36s.

Among the women, Armelle Favre of CAF Vanoise Tarentaise took the lead in 34min29s, widening the gap on Eva Laplace in 36min43s and Mireille Bartnicki of CAF Albertville in 37min10s.

For this 16th edition of the DSTC, the association “Courchevel Sports Alpinisme” (CSA) had organised the resort’s hoteliers' and restaurateurs' challenge. The challenge was won by Eva Laplace of the mountain restaurant “Le Chalet de Pierre” in 36min43s and by Franck Brionne , director of the Hôtel “Le Lana”, in 1h01min26s.

Next Wednesday is the last one! Last chance to beat the record, last chance to be in the 2013 ranking, last chance to set your own record of the season for those who want to play the clock to the end. But also an opportunity to come and celebrate to close this 3rd DSTC season.

Registration will be free for everyone who comes in fancy dress, and to keep this evening unforgettable, a “Harlem Shake” of the DSTC 2013 will be organised at the start of the event. For those who do not know this new “buzz” of the year, the organisers will explain everything on site. And to finish the evening in style, a buffet prepared by the Hôtel Le Chabichou will be offered to all participants in the Croisette hall, where the prize-giving and the official announcement of the 2013 men’s and women’s records will take place.
