Act 4 - MILLET SKI TOURING COURCHEVEL - Wednesday 7 January 2015

The 4th Millet Ski Touring Courchevel for Florent Perrier and Véronique Laturaz.

Among the 112 ski mountaineers, many Russian participants were present at this 4th stage of the Millet Ski Touring Courchevel (MSTC), held on Wednesday 7 January. The day after Russian Christmas, Dmitry Orlov, a devotee of this race for many years, finished in 35min49s, and Tatiana and Andrei Veresky reached the end of this Vertical Race of 3.2 km and 500 metres of elevation gain in 54min03s and 51min09s respectively.

All afternoon before the race, the volunteers of the organising association "Courchevel Sports Alpinisme" had covered the course with fresh snow, as it had become icy after last weekend’s rain. Thanks to this initiative, the participants were able to perform in good conditions. In this 4th MSTC, it was Florent Perrier of the Club Multisports d’Arêches Beaufort who was the best in 24min44s. Joris Perillat Pessey of ESF La Clusaz (25min30s) won the ESF challenge ranking and took second place overall in 25min30s ahead of Clément Ripoll of CAF Annecy (25min32s).

Having set the first reference time of the "Plum Kv Courchevel" last Friday, Véronique Lathuraz finished on the top step of the podium of this 4th MSTC among the women in 35min02s despite a fall on the course. In second position came Charlotte Le Roux of ESF Le Grand Bornand, who this time won the ESF challenge ranking among the women instructors in 35min11s, and Géraldine Bau completed the podium in 35min23s.

Lionel Claudepierre of the club Vosges Ski Alpinisme, record holder of the Haute Route Chamonix-Zermatt on 15 April 2013 in 18h35s, finished this climb in 27min31s.

The provisional records in the 2015 MSTC overall standings are for the moment still held by Kilian Jornet in 22min01s and Laurie Renoton in 34min16s.
