Dynastar X3 Courchevel 2025: a record edition!

With more than 1,000 registered for this 12th edition, the Dynastar X3 Courchevel has become the unmissable event for all outdoor sports enthusiasts at the end of winter. On Sunday 13 April, the whole Courchevel resort was buzzing.

The atmosphere was wild all along the course of this extraordinary triathlon, with very many spectators and companions armed with bells, megaphones, whistles, banners… Right up to the summit of the Saulire at 2,710 m above sea level, they cheered on the triathletes, who had to work hard to complete the 13.9 km and 930 m of climbing of cycling, 6.3 km and 180 m of elevation gain and loss of trail running, and 4.8 km with 950 m of elevation gain of ski mountaineering, solo or in a trio. The finish, at the highest point of the ski area, was worthy of the mountain pass crossings at the Tour de France, with the crowd parting as the ski mountaineers passed in the last metres before the finish line.

6th win for Yoann Sert!

After 1h59min13s of effort, Yoann Sert took his 6th win ahead of Will Juillaguet, second in 2h02min16s, and 2024 title holder Valentin Noebes Tourres , 3rd in 2h03min37s.

Having come with no certainty after a winter full of bibs, Yoann finished the event delighted and confident. “This winter was complicated, I was often ill. Juggling work, training and family generated quite a lot of fatigue. In the end, after a cautious start, I had good feelings on skis. I’m quite happy, even though I hope to beat William Bon Mardion 's record of 1h56min12s, set in 2017, one day.”

Conversely, Valentin Noebes Tourres came to the event to kick-start his season. “For me, it’s the return to competition. The battle for the win was hard in the first two disciplines. Yoann ended the suspense right at the start of the ski section, he accelerated and I was left rooted to the spot. I’m still very satisfied with my third place. It bodes well for what follows. Now it’s time for the trail season.”

A lovely discovery for Anne Lise Desjacques

Winner in 2h30min27s, Anne Lise Desjacques was won over by the concept. “Linking the 3 disciplines is great fun. I set off cautiously on the bike. I preferred to keep something in reserve for the rest. The trail section is very runnable and quite fun. As for the skiing, it’s quite demanding. The snow is spring snow, you still need good legs to push again on the flat and get through the steep sections. The finish at the Saulire is magnificent and has a fantastic atmosphere.”

In second position with a time of 2h33min35s, Agathe Bes had to fend off the challenge of the 2022 and 2023 winner Fiona Porte , who fell short by 11 seconds. Perrine Abadie, second in the extraordinary summer triathlon Björka X3 Courchevel 2024, finished just off the podium in 2h34min08s, with the satisfaction of having set the best women’s time in the trail section in 30min27s.

Cyclists, trail runners, skiers… but also adventure racers!

In the men’s trio, it was the adventure racers Fleury Roux, Lori Girard and Raphael Masliah who set the top time in 1h55min50s. Fleury, just back from his brilliantly successful Azimut Nord project with Pierre Martinez (crossing France from the southernmost to the northernmost point, i.e. 1,334 km with 23,400 m of elevation in 11 days), said: “I chose the Dynastar X3 Courchevel to share a race weekend with my friends at a very friendly event. I came with no performance goal, just to have a great day, and that was the case.” Fleury and Raphael will take part next week in a round of the Adventure Racing European Cup in the Loire, in a mixed team with Pierre Martinez and Romane Lesquer.

With the best performance of the day in the trail section (25min03s), Renaud Jallardon contributed greatly to his team, made up of Bastien Morel (cyclist) and Paul Sulpice (skier), taking second place in 2h06min18s.

The women’s trio made up of cyclist Clarisse Monnet, trail runner Alexandra Garnier and skier Sonia Brussoz (best women’s time in ski mountaineering in 51min52s) retained their title in 2h22min48s ahead of the experienced Stéphanie Duc (best women’s time in cycling in 53min11s), Stéphanie Lartilleux and Corinne Favre, second in 2h29min27s.

New record in the Mixed Trio

They had come to set a new record and they did it. In 2h00min27s, Hugo Fanti (best cycling time in 40min05s), Anna Pokorna and Swann Juillaguet (best time in the ski mountaineering section in 44min06s) produced a top-level performance and came within a whisker of the 2-hour mark.

As in the adventures of the legendary and indomitable Gauls, the day ended around a fine banquet table at the Gymnase de l’Envolée in Le Praz, before a new chapter is written in the summer version of the X3, the Björka X3 Courchevel. This extraordinary triathlon will take place on Sunday 20 July with a sequence of 6,000 m of indoor rowing, followed by 12.2 km (750 m of elevation gain) of cycling, finishing with 9.6 km (550 m of elevation gain and loss) of trail running, solo or in a trio, in an exceptional setting at the top of the Courchevel altiport.
